Domaine des Quatre Pierres
El Pépé 2021
This is Edouard's flagship wine, the El Pépé, coming from a magical plot of old goblet trained Carignan vines that overlooks the village of Aragon. The vines are nearly 80 years old.
To be called AOC Cabardès a wine must be a blend and contain at least 40% of Cab Sauv, Cab Franc or Merlot and also 40% Grenache or Syrah! Carignan accounts for a tiny quanity of the grapes planted in Cabardès so this is a special and singular wine that shows the potential of the areas single vineyard, vin de france wines that fly under the radar in this area.
